The 6th graders at Jose Urbina Lopez Elementary School in Matamoros are some of the lowest performing students in Mexico. In their classrooms there is an atmosphere of overpowering discipline, not opportunity. It seems like a dead end, but it's the perfect place for new teacher Sergio Juarez to try something new. There's just one problem: Sergio's (played by Latin megastar Eugenio Derbez) unconventional curriculum isn't met with unqualified acceptance and he's accused of having no idea what he's doing. RADICAL is an honest and inspiring story about a teacher who takes a radical approach to awakening curiosity and the joy of learning in overlooked children. The story is based on true events and shines a light on the incredible potential that children can realise when an innovative teacher empowers them to think and believe in themselves.
