Poor Things

The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Golden Lion. Poor Things was nominated for 11 Oscars and won four, including the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Emma Stone. 

From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the fantastic story of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone) on the big screen, a young woman who is brought back from the dead by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter's guidance and protection, Bella is eager to learn. She is hungry for life and the life experience she lacks. With Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a cunning and disreputable lawyer, she sets off on a fast-paced adventure across the continents. She frees herself more and more from the constraints and prejudices of her time and grows increasingly determined to stand up for equality and freedom.
