Renowned director Todd Haynes (Carol, Dark Waters) has once again hired Oscar winners Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore for his new film. Screenwriter Samy Burch was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at this year's Oscars.  

In MAY DECEMBER, television actress Elizabeth (Portman) travels to the picturesque coast of Maine to study Gracie (Moore), who she is to play in a film. This woman was the subject of a scandalous relationship two decades earlier. After all, her partner Joe (Melton) is much younger than Gracie. The relationship withstood media hostility and the two now have two children together. As they prepare to send their twins off to college, their family dynamic begins to crumble under the investigative actress's outsider gaze.
