On a New Year's Day, hungover and still single, Bridget Jones - a 30-year-old Londoner - decides to get a grip on her life and keep a diary: "Resolution number one: of course I'm going to lose ten kilos. Number two: find a nice, sensible boyfriend and don't get romantically involved with alcoholics, workaholics, thrill-seekers, megalomaniacs, emotional weirdos or perverts. 

But it's not that easy for Bridget, because she has to choose between the bona fide sex god with the big car, Daniel Cleaver, and the aloof and thoughtful but sensitive Mark Darcy...
