Their own marriage is long in the past. But when their daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) travels to Bali and falls head over heels in love and gets engaged, her divorced parents Georgia and David (Julia Roberts, George Clooney) are blindsided. Although they only feel dislike for each other, the two set off together to the exotic tropical paradise to save Lily from the mistake they themselves made 25 years ago.
